Tonight, I had the pleasure to model for Darja Bilyk.
We met at 20:30 and worked till midnight. We just couldn't stop. We walked to the Light House in Edinburgh, where we both live.
The sun was going down.
We took a few photographs using this soft, natural light, but we both knew the atmosphere at night would be much more interesting to play with.
Darja came up with this wonderful story, where the character would keep the Light House's heart and bring her own light to it.
We actually discussed ideas for a short-film and might collaborate further in the future. It would be magical !
I was very excited to work with someone so passionate, creative and loving, who also understood cinematography and the importance of having a story in mind when taking photographs... at least, in my actor's eyes.
Of course, spontaneous shoots can be very creative too, but I find it much easier - and engaging - to be in character, to know their circumstances in order to give a fictional, picturesque feel to the photoshoot.
Despite the not-so-warm Scottish summer, it was very relaxing and delightful to collaborate with Darja.
I am so looking forward to our next projects together !
Thank you for reading :)
